"Let's discover the world of shadows!" A journey through an enchanted city leads us into a very special chamber. Three white screens form a room and space for projections. In the chamber there is a table, a small piano, some objects and two torches. Suddenly the light changes and two puppeteers lead us along surprising paths into the magical universe of shadows. The laws of physics do not apply, expectations are are thwarted. Shadows that enter through the back door and steal our things. The shadows of everyday objects perform their own little dance of freedom. They get bigger and smaller, they split and merge. Even the shadows of the puppeteers multiply and create a dialogue. Shadows become what they have imagined. Shadows become bodies, bodies become shadows and for a second, being alone feels less lonely. An ode to the power of the imagination! "Schattenwerfer" (Shadowmaker) is no ordinary shadow play. It is about the relationship and dialogue between a shadow and its body, and playfully questions the hierarchy of this relationship. It sharpens our eye for these black, strange things that follow us everywhere and stick to our feet like chewing gum, which we can't run away from, even if we are super fast. Innovative!
