(Paula and the Lightness of Being) Based on the children's book by Zoran Drvenkar When Paula turns seven, it begins. She gets heavy and fat and heavier and heavier. Paula even goes under in the water now, despite her swimming ring. No one in her large family is as heavy as Paula and everyone suddenly has back pain when they try to lift Paula. Except Uncle Hiram from Australia, who simply takes her in his arms as usual and throws her up in the air. And Paula can't get down again. Everything is easy up here. Even Paula. She flies and flies and her heart is finally free and light again. Day after day, she lives with the clouds, reads books and sleeps in the treetops. Paula is happy. Only sometimes she feels a little lonely. Perhaps everything would have stayed the same. Perhaps Paula would have spent the next year and the year after alone in the air. But life is full of surprises and sometimes loneliness just packs its bags... In co-operation with the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
